Mushroom Men for DS and Wii in UK Stores Tomorrow

SouthPeak Interactive Corporation (developer and publisher for interactive entertainment software) has today announced that its new title, Mushroom Men, is coming to Wii and Nintendo DS tomorrow in the UK. "Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars" (for Nintendo Wii) and "Rise of the Fungi" (for Nintendo DS) will offer gamers a unique adventure, from the perspective of a little hero with a big mission to accomplish.

In "Mushroom Men: Rise of the Fungi" players can choose among three kinds of three-inch tall mushrooms (Heavy, Sage and Scout); everyone of them will give you particular strenght and weakness. Players have to battle by their makeshift weapons to defend the peaceful Bolete and the technological Morel societies. The game is set in a 2.5D side-scrolling action-platformer human landscape.

You will go through the evolution of a mushroom society, from the starting stages of their civilization, where you'll build up tribes and communities, homes and craft weapons to defend their world and to save their kind from the war-like Lepiotas and Amanitas mushrooms.

"Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars" is a third-person action-platformer picking up the ending of "Rise of the Fungi" story, as the player will end up controlling PAX, a mushroom trying to find his place in society. PAX will soon learn to be different, as he'll uncover new talents he never thought he had.

In "The Spore Wars" you'll use the Wii Remote to make PAX run, jump and glide. In order to make his way through the several scenarios, PAX will have to use his spores. Once again, the purpose of the game is to help the Bolete and Morel tribes to fight the Lepiota and Amanita armies, while discovering his role in this new wild world.

SouthPeak Games is also releasing a special Mushroom Men cookery book, featuring a set of taste-bud tickling recipes and one terrible dessert too.
